Highland expedition, wildlife observation
The tour starts at 8:00, guide and private transportation will pick you up from your hotel. The trip stars crossing the endless land of the Bolivian High Plateau, “El Altiplano Boliviano”, our destiny is Oruro city, where the Sajama Park is at an altitude of more than 4200 meters above sea level.
Until arriving to the park we will visit to the Curahuara de Carangas Church, the Sistine Chapel of the Altiplano, and later arrival to the Sajama National Park, first we visit the Hayna Kota Lagoon where we will have the opportunity to observe andean flamingos before enjoying a bath at hot springs near the town of Sajama. In the afternoon walk through the queñua forest at the Sajama Mountain, visit to the geysers and camelids wildlife observing (vicunas, lamas, alpacas). We spend the night at Tomarapi Ecolodge.
Visit to the polychrome giant Chullpas of the community based entrepreneurship "Río Lauca" and its circuit. Drive back to the Tambo Quemado highway to travel travel back to La Paz. Transfer to your hotel. Visit the set of polícomos Chullpares recently restored and ended the visit in Laguna Sakewa for sightings of flamingos. Return to Tambo Quemado to take the paved road back to La Paz.
Access to attractions may be limited during the rainy season, so does the access roads toTomarapi and Sajama. The rainy season starts in December and ends in March.
