What makes this tour special?
Knowing the richness that Bolivia has with its different flavors, make this Tour in the city of La Paz an unmissable experience for anyone who is interested in delving into: specialty coffee of national production, wines with their own essence and typical food, to remember Bolivia as a capital of natural and unique flavor.
Bolivia stands out for the quality of its high-altitude products.
🇧🇴 |
Coffee, wine, and cuisine reflect Bolivia’s identity: authentic, flavorful, and deeply rooted in its land. A combination that deserves greater international recognition. |
☕ |
Apolo coffee, grown in the Yungas of La Paz at over 1,200 meters above sea level, offers floral aromas, balanced acidity, and sweet notes that place it among the most highly regarded specialty coffees. |
🍷 |
In the south, the wines of Tarija and Cinti benefit from the dry climate and altitude —up to 2,000 meters— to produce intense grape varieties and award-winning singanis. These are fresh, aromatic wines with character, shaped by a unique terroir. |
🍲 |
Traditional cuisine —such as sajta, roast pork, or salteñas— is reinvented with signature proposals in restaurants like Gustu, Ali Pacha, Manq’a, and others, which elevate local ingredients with modern techniques. Thus, coffee, wine, and Bolivian cuisine combine tradition, innovation, and territory, positioning the country as a high-level culinary destination in Latin America. |

What is the dynamics of the tour?
At 09:00 (or 14:00) we pick you up at your hotel to start a half day tour focused on the flavors of Bolivia. We start with a brief visit to a local popular market, where you can appreciate the most used ingredients in Bolivian gastronomy: Andean grains, native tubers, chili peppers, aromatic herbs and fruits from different regions of the country. Once in the southern area of the city of La Paz, known for being a residential, commercial and modern area that has experienced a remarkable growth in recent years, we will visit the three main stops of the tour and a final recommendation.
Food tasting tour
1️⃣ First stop
Visiting a local market lets you discover and savor the authentic flavors of Bolivian cuisine through its most iconic ingredients. Fresh, GMO-free vegetables and produce, grown by local farmers, burst with vibrant flavors and colors that captivate the senses. These ingredients, sourced from every region of Bolivia, are often brought to market by the farmers themselves. Trucks brimming with fresh goods set out from rural provinces in the early hours, arriving at the market by 4:00 a.m. to unload and prepare for the day's sales.
2️⃣ Second stop
Our first stop is Orígen, a space dedicated to promoting high-quality Bolivian coffee and cacao, with a strong focus on sustainability and local sourcing. We’ll learn about cultivation and processing methods, and enjoy a guided tasting of four different specialty coffees:
- Natural honey process
- Washed Teoponte
- Washed Apolo
- and a surprise of the day
3️⃣ Third stop
Next, we visit La Tintorería, a cozy wine bar showcasing Bolivia’s diverse wine regions. We’ll explore local grape varieties, styles and wine-making traditions, with a tasting of four Bolivian wines paired with traditional tapas. The experience also includes a premium singani served with 70% organic Bolivian chocolate.
